Finally

Well I finally was able to talk to someone today about a Home Study. This is a study that couples who want to adopt have to complete that basically searches into every part of your life; family history, finances, home life, health...oh and my FBI fingerprint information is "in the mail". These studies take about 6-8 weeks to complete which is sad because as you know...time is ticking. I often wonder why we didn't start this process years ago. I don't know how often we talked about it but never put feet to our words. Maybe we (my husband and I) both felt a little insulted that our lives would be scrutinized just for wanting to adopt a child. I feel that way a little right now. So quickly we go on the defensive. Wondering if I have done anything wrong that would be a bad mark on a home study. What will our finances look like on paper? Is my house clean enough? I am however excited about starting the process...and a little nervous. Better late than never right? More to come...

Caroline...do you think she would barter:)? $1300 homestudy for free decorating consultation and accessories? That would be awesome!
