Retrieving Cat

This is Zoe. She is a new addition to our home. We lost both of our cats last year, one the weekend before Christmas. I was so upset over the holidays and vowed not to get another cat. But my husband had other plans.

In January Brad would drop by the local animal shelter and look at all the cats and kittens. He would call me to meet him down there because I just had to see some new cat that had just been brought in. Honestly he wore me out going to the shelter.

But one day...there she was. This little furry mottled kitten. I knew right then I had to have her. So I signed my name to the list. Didn't know you had to get in line to adopt an animal these days but you do. I had to wait 5 days before she could be adopted and then had to show up at 9am right when the shelter opened to pick her up. I can't believe I went to all that trouble but I did. And I am glad I did.

Zoe has fit well into our family. Our German Shepherd Dogs, Bailie and Heidie, just love her. She is not afraid of them at all. And maybe it is because she has some "doggy" traits. She retrieves. One night we were watching TV and she brought her little mouse (pictured w/ her here) to us and dropped it at our feet. Well Brad picked it up and through it. She immediately gave chase, attacked it and then gently put it in her mouth and brought it back to us. How cute is that?
